Gulland Orthodontics has been a fixture in Mercer County since 1990, with offices in both Hermitage and Greenville. One of the best parts of his job, according to Dr. G himself, is having the opportunity to treat successive generations of families in the community, with former patients now bringing their own children in for treatment. Many of our local dentists and physicians trust Dr. G for their family’s orthodontic care. Dr. G often says one of the best things he does is surround himself with good people. He is very proud of the team he has assembled, not only because of their skills but also because of the kindness and compassion they bring to his practice.
He regularly attends educational seminars and training programs taught by some of the most respected names in the profession and maintains numerous active memberships, including the American Association of Orthodontists.

A farm boy at heart, Dr. Gulland grew up the oldest of three sons on the family farm outside of Titusville, PA. Along with crops and hay, he raised beef and milk cows, pigs, and chickens. He was very active in 4-H, and if you are lucky, you might hear about his prize-winning Holstein cow, “Westbridge Star Marvex Judy”!
After graduating from Maplewood High School, Dr. G attended Penn State University, earning a B.S. in biology. His drive to serve his community within the healthcare sphere spurred him to pursue a career in dentistry. After graduating third in his class at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, he gained entrance to the very competitive Medical College of Virginia where he completed his orthodontic residency.
Dr. Gulland and his wife Debbie reside in Hermitage. He is an American history addict, an avid antique collector, and along with woodworking, he enjoys a wide range of gardening projects including caring for his berry bushes, heirloom fruit trees and chickens.
